Pete. Staffofury Smiling Boy 1985 apx. 4

" Staffofury Smiling Boy" Pete.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier I purchased in 1981 saved me from burglars, played football with children from 1 - 91. and carried the newspaper home from the shop. When he was seven Pete was introduced to my first child, he became the most devoted guardian & babysitter.

He was my best friend as well as being a show dog and a typical Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

My first dog was a Wire Fox Terrier called "Whiskey" she introduced me to the Show Ring at the local Fair in 1956 she had a bath before going and managed to win a third prize, a card, tin of dog food and some Bob Martins. I was hooked!

I fell in love with Staffords outside a Post Office in Newport, South Wales in 1970 but had to wait ten years before we were settled enough to obtain my first Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

In 1981 I was lucky enough to obtain Pete."Staffofury Smiling Boy" he was by Frackalls Sugar Ray out of Anglestaff Lady Lolita.

We travelled far and wide to all kinds of shows mainly by public transport or special coach to the Parent Club show and we gained experience, making a few good friends along the way.

In 1983 a pied bitch from the Scarthwaite kennels joined us, she was "Brindle Star of Scarthwaite" and we called her Nell. She  was a very sound girl with a superb temperament, huge teeth and the perfect Nanny.  The Sunnystone affix was registered in 1986, Nellie produced two litters, the first was by "Scarthwaite Rifleman", the second an outcross to "Ch Boldmore Black Sabbath."

In 1987 after several years as Secretary for the Southern Counties Staffordshire Bull Terrier Society, I was was honoured to receive my first judging appointment for the breed.

 "Brindle Star of Scarthwaite"

Purchased from Les Aspin in 1983 shown here with "Sunnystone Companion" from her first litter.

Loved pretending to be an apple and hang from the tree in our garden.

Had the best temperament of any dog I've ever met. and was adored by the men in my household. It took my son 6 months to get over her loss when  she died.
